One of our favorite things to do here at the Shop Sweet Lulu Blog, is to take ordinary party supplies, and turn them into something unique........ something outside the box. If you have seen our bike parade party or our
candy ring tutorial, you know exactly what I am talking about.
Well, with Easter right around the corner, we thought we would "Lulu" up (did I just coin a knew term?!) our wooden berry baskets with some party pretties from the shop. Hopefully, some of the things we used in this project, are things you would have never thought to craft with.
So, friends, this is what we came up with!
This is first one is probably my favorite, just because I suspect it has never crossed your mind to mod podge one our treat bags to something. Chevron is trending like crazy right now. If you are looking to add a stylish and modern look to your Easter basket this year, the Chevron Berry Basket is the one for you!
To make this basket, I simply cut the favor bag in half, traced the shape of the basket onto the pieces of bag & mod podged (is that even a real word?) the bag to the basket using a sponge tipped paint brush. To finish it off, I brushed more mod podge over the top to seal it. Viola!
Love the idea, but chevron is not your thing? We have lots of other choice in the shop. See our selection by clicking here.
Another trend that is heating up is confetti......on everything. We here at Shop Sweet Lulu are no exception, and LOVE ourselves some confetti. So, when I stumbled this upon this confetti dot tissue paper from Target's Spritz line, I HAD to buy it. I wasn't exactly sure how I was going to use it (as I am am more of a wrapped present kind of girl and not so much a a gift bag user). But, when I broke out the mod podge, I knew EXACTLY what I was going to do with it! Whoot! Whoot!
To make this basket, follow the same instruction as I have listed above for the chevron bag.

"Granny Chic" is another favorite around these parts. If you haven't noticed yet, we have started to carry a lot of items to party craft in the shop. Since we like to make as many things as we can by hand for our own soirees, we thought many of you might be the same way. We just started to carry the line Crate Paper . If sweet vintage prints or granny chic is your bag, you will LOVE it.
To create this look, I used these buttons and this paper. I also mod podged the paper to the basket (see instruction above for the chevron berry basket) and created a paper rosette using a bone folder, scoreboard & a glue gun.
It wouldn't be Easter without something covered in moss....am I right?!
To make this basket, I glue gunned sheets of craft moss to the sides of the basket. I created the handle by cutting a strip of the moss the length I wanted the handle to be and double the width. With the moss side down, I glue gunned pieces of floral wire on one half of the handle. Once the hot glue had cooled (so that the floral wire was secure) I put hot glue on the other side and folded the piece of moss it in half lengthwise. Once the glue cooled, I shaped the handle and glued it to the outside of the basket. Next I trimmed the the rim of basket with some glitter tape. Using the same tape, I also made a bow and glued it in the center.
Well, I hope that we inspired your creativity. If numerous people are interested in a step-by-step tutorial (with pictures of course!), please leave use a note in the comment section.
Thanks for stopping by!
xoxo,
Stevie
