For a fun little springtime goodie, let's make treat cones that look like carrots, shall we?
First, let's gather our supplies:
double sided crepe paper (we used emerald & clover and juicy orange & persimmon)
cotton twine in pea pod green
scissors
double sided tape
treats (we used foil wrapped candies, but little snacks like goldfish and pretzels would be good too)
Directions:
1. Print out the carrot template here . Trace and cut the template out of the orange crepe paper.
2. Cut a piece of green crepe paper that measures 9 inches square.
3. Fold the green paper in half and cut strips of fringe approx. 1/2 wide - make sure to leave an inch uncut at the fold. If you cut 'with the grain' of the crepe, you're fringe will be stiff, if you cut 'against the grain' it will be a little more squiggly.
4. Using double sided tape, adhere the folded part of the green fringe to the outside lip of the paper cone.
5. Using double sided tape, adhere the orange 'carrot' shape to the outside of the cone, overlapping the green fringe.
6. Fill your cone with goodies
7. Gather up the green fringe and tie it with string.
8. Give to somebunny special. Sorry, I couldn't help myself.
